Somalia Newsroom is a blog about the Horn of Africa that was founded in April 2012. It began as an outlet for the research of Tres Thomas, who completed his PhD dissertation on federalism in Somalia in December 2017 at the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University.

The website focuses on providing unique analysis on Somalia and the broader region that cannot be found on traditional news sites.
